Here are some details on a few, these are suited to those either already in a deputy managers position looking to advance to a management position or in a position where you would like to progress as a team leader or supervisor.

Award in Team Leading

• This is a succinct qualification intended to give apprentices a basic knowledge of the various roles, functions and duties of a team leader and the boundaries of their authority and liability. The required unit in ‘Developing yourself as a team leader’ is a good starting point for team/cell leaders who are fresh to their roles or for ambitious frontrunners who wish to achieve a firm ability of the philosophies and realities of team leading.

Certificate in Team Leading

• This shapes and extends the skills and knowledge gained in the Award. Here, practical techniques in inspiring teams, plus preparation and supervising their work are discovered within the additional compulsory units.
• All learners are able to choose from a range of optional units to build their qualification. This high level of flexibility allows individuals or their employers to custom build a qualification that focuses on the key areas most relevant to their role, industry or organisation.

Level 3 Management NVQ

• This NVQ is for first line managers who have responsibilities within clear limits and wider accountability for people and their operation. It assesses your familiarity and interpretation of key management activities and gives you a chance to develop your presentation in your job, to become more operative and to advance your career. There are four obligatory units, covering the key abilities, and you can then choose from a range of elective units which allow you to modify the programme to apprentices and employers needs
