Qualifications

An AAT QCF apprenticeship has 3 levels tailored to a person's experience.

• The Level 2 Certificate is aimed at learners with a basic knowledge of the field and introduces the fundamentals of accounting practices including: double entry and trial balance, preparing sales and purchase ledgers, management accounting and computer skills.
• The Level 3 Diploma is mainly designed for people with existing knowledge of accountancy and includes: the preparation of a final set of accounts, the analysis and reporting of financial information, how to complete VAT returns and professional ethics.
• To enrol for the Level 4 Diploma, learners must possess either a Level 3 qualification or a relevant degree. At this highest level, the course covers more comprehensive instruction such as planning and budgetary control, the analysis of the overall accounting function, internal and external auditing and the management of cash and credit.

It can take from just six months to complete a Level 2 Certificate, 12 months for a Level 3 Diploma and from 12-18 months to complete a Level 4 Diploma. On completion, the newly graduated professionals will be the proud owners of an AAT QCF qualification that will lead to full membership of the AAT, provide a springboard to further professional qualifications and result in a rich and rewarding career.
